Alumni Highlight: Aditya Purnomo Aji

In this post we are highlighting YSEALI PFP alum Aditya (Adit) Purnomo Aji from Indonesia! Read more about Adit’s YSEALI PFP experience below:

During the 1-month YSEALI PFP period, Adit had his fellowship at Cheyenne, Wyoming, in the City Planning Department. He had the opportunity to learn more about planning and policymaking process in the U.S. Thanks to Bryan Pedersen (ACYPL Board), Adit had the opportunity to partake in government meetings with various officials including Governor Mark Gordon, toured the city by air, celebrated indigenous people’s day, hiked Snowy Peak mountains, and watched High School football games.

Adit noted that the fellowship has motivated him to give back to society more. The experience really broadened his insights on how planning and public policy work. How a participatory policymaking process is the path forward for a more empathetic society. It also motivated him to take on new challenges in his professional career. Also, he took on a new hobby - sketching! (Find some of his sketches featured above.)
